Affording CFS

Our Commitment

From its founding, Carolina Friends School has been highly committed to inclusivity, and socio-economic diversity is one of the many kinds of diversity essential to the health of our community.

Even full tuition does not cover the total cost of educating a child at CFS. So, in a sense, all families receive some support from the School. Additionally, around a quarter of our students’ families pay less than full tuition, with their obligation ranging from $2,400 to nearly the full published tuition for their unit.

It is important to note that even full tuition does not cover the total cost of educating a child at CFS. So, in a sense, all families receive some support from the School--each year, in excess of $2,000 per child, drawn from the operating budget, endowment, and/or annual campaign funds.

Tuition Assistance

Whether it is called tuition assistance, flexible or indexed tuition, or financial aid, the process by which schools determine how much a family can afford is the same. We also offer payment options to try to help families with their financial planning. Learn more about such support at CFS and the steps you can take to apply at Tuition Assistance.

Please know it's a confidential process and that we are eager to work with you to see if Carolina Friends can be the right fit for your family and for your family's budget.
